Electronic Communications
Video | E-marketing | Web | Analytics

After becoming Carroll University's first electronic communications coordinator in Institutional Advancement, I worked to educate myself on fundraising strategies while also bringing my own knowledge of storytelling to the team. I incorporated 20+ years of journalism experience into building storytelling strategies across multiple platforms to include a monthly e-newsletter, web pages, magazine articles, photos, and video. In 2018, I partnered with a fellow staff member in alumni engagement to create the video series, "CU in the Workplace," sharing stories of alumni at work with a tie back to their education at Carroll.
Through experiences of developing e-communications on the Informz/Higher Logic and currently Blackbaud/Net Community platforms, I regularly share analytics with team members in order to understand audience motivation and strive to improve reader engagement and calls to action.
I also collaborated with our front office and Financial Aid Department to create job descriptions and establish work-study positions for electronic communications assistants. Since 2013, I have supervised and mentored students employed in these positions, designed to prepare them for careers through hands-on work in writing, video, graphic design, and audio storytelling.
